Beatitudes Campus is celebrating quite the milestone: 60 years of supporting seniors as they color their days with passion and purpose! For six decades, Beatitudes Campus has not just been a place to live, but a vibrant community where life is embraced with energy, purpose and joy.
Our story began in the early 1960s, a period of profound societal change. Amidst this transformative era, the Rev. Dr. Culver H. “Bill” Nelson, a true visionary who founded the Church of the Beatitudes in 1954, brought forth a bold new concept for retirement living. He imagined a community inspired by the vibrancy of a college campus, uniquely blending housing, healthcare and holistic wellness. This forward-thinking vision, emphasizing purpose and connection for aging adults, earned the support of his church and led to the establishment of Beatitudes Campus.
Dr. Nelson's influence provided the foundation for many other contributors over the years, creating and growing this innovative senior living community where hundreds now thrive.
